A 1/1 scale model of Maungawhau Mount Eden out of arm knitting (196m of arm knitting), displayed in the Epsom Library. This work is representative of the mountain to encourage dialogue around its preservation and importance, and provide the public with a new way of thinking about how to make art that responds to our changing natural environment. The work is created using recycled material (sheets collected from op shops), which are then be stitched together and hand dyed, before arm knitting the total height of the mountain from this material. A workshop will also be held at the venue to demonstrate Arm Knitting to the community.
