Joel Crook is a local Kingsland artist and designer. Most recently you may have seen his series of digital artworks screening in Kingsland over the Matariki Festival.
“Showcasing artwork from local artists is a fantastic way to brighten up our streets and bring joy into the community. Art can move and inspire us. Kingsland is a unique and eclectic neighbourhood and already features some wonderful street art.”
“I am passionate about showcasing the local creative community and the uniqueness of our suburb. I would love to see Kingsland known as an artistic hub amongst the Auckland central suburbs. From this, “Art at your Feet” was born. The idea is to create 4 large outdoor vinyl stickers that will be placed in key areas within Kingsland township. The stickers will be a collage of local artists and some of my own work.”
“Bringing art into a public space means that the joy of art is accessible to everyone in the community, not just those with the means to visit an art gallery. I am looking forward to bringing the project alive over summer!”
