Ahurei Matariki Takatāpui was a brand new initiative from arts / social agency Taurima Vibes presented in the Matariki Māori new year season for Tamaki Takatāpui. With this project, Taurima Vibes aimed to engage the Takatāpui community, their whānau and allies, (Rangatahi and Kaumatua alike) to look at ways to help bridge gaps both culturally and generationally.

The expo featured the following:
- Ahoa Te Aha Kapa Haka group performing on the day and offering workshops in poi making, haka, and waiata.
- a storytelling nook where nannies and koros reading from existing text or sharing their own stories of Matariki and being Takataapui
- a harakeke expert holding weaving classes
- Performances from Brady Peeti and Caitlin Smith
